Control your worries for a happy life!
This is a quote from Chris Evans on his breakfast show this morning... I think it's brilliant! I love Chris Evans, he is so positive and uplifting, but also so wise! If you didn't hear it, he was doing a piece on 'Worry Not Wednesday' and did a 'mini mind master class'. It was all about how most of us let our thoughts control us, and those thoughts are often negative... and how they can take take over and ruin your life if you don't learn to control them. And you can do this by ringing a bell in your head every time a negative one comes along, and you reject it and so no thanks, not today thanks and let it move on, don't give it any air time in your head. And keep doing this with every negative thought until a positive comes along, and then concentrate and think thoughts about this one... it's all about controlling your thoughts and keeping them happy ones. HAPPY THOUGHTS = A HAPPY LIFE. It's a real skill that just needs a bit of practice! I have started to do this a bit myself recently... after both my kids were very ill in hospital a few years ago I started thinking about it ALOT afterwards and negative worries started consuming my mind, making me very anxious and keeping me awake at night etc... in the end every time I had a thought or flash back about it, I put the thought to the back of my mind and tried to think about something else, something that made me happy... and I am able to do this quite effectively now and it has dramatically improved my state of mind and anxiety. Give it a try! If you want to listen to Chris Evans talking about this then you need to listen to his show today (12th December) here: and start listening at around 1h 11mins... and a fab book on this is Eckhart Tolle's THE POWER OF NOW which is all about controlling the 'noise' in your brain and how to switch if off.
